Question : LOSS MAKING CPSES



(a) the number of CentraJ Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) which are sick and closed and the Ministry under which the cases of sickness is maximum;

(b) the number of CPSEs which are loss-making and the Ministry under which the cases of ioss-making is maximum;

(c) the gross loss incurred by all the CPSEs during each of the last three years; and

(d) the number of profit-making CPSEs and the gross profit earned by all the CPSEs during the said period?

(a): As per information available in the Public Enterprises Survey 2032-13, that was laid in the Parliament on 20,02.14, and based on the definition of `sickness` given in the Govt. of India Resolution dated 6th December, 2004, constituting Board for Reconstruction of Public Sector Enterprise`s (BRPSE), there were 61 sick Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) as on 3I.3.2013.Ministry wise list of sick CPSEs as on 31.3.2013 is given as Annex-/. Closure of 4 CPSEs (Bharat Ophthalmic Glass Ltd. Bharat Yantra Nigam Ltd. Hindustan Photo Films Manufacturing Company Ltd. and STCL Ltd.) have been approved till 31.10.2014.

(b) : As per information available, 50 Central Public Sector Enterprises (CPSEs) have been incurring losses continuously for the last three years (2012-13, 2011-12 and 2010-11). Department of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises has maximum number of loss making CPSEs i.e. 16 CPSEs.

(c ) The total aggregate losses reported by loss making CPSEs during the last three years is given below:

(d) As per information available, 136 CPSEs earning continuously profit during the last three years. The total aggregate profit of profit making CPSEs during the last three years is given below:
