Question : DISCONTINUATION OF EXTRACTION OF COAL



(a) whether the Coal India Limited (CIL) and its subsidiaries have discontinued some of their coal producing projects during the last three years and the current year;

(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the reasons therefor, project-wise;

(c) whether several coal workers have been rendered jobless as a result thereof; and

(d) if so, the steps taken/proposed to be taken to re-start the operation in these projects?
