Question : Increasing of Retirement Age ofAllopathy-AYUSH Doctors

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether the decision on increasing the retirement age from 60 to 65 years for all the doctors (AYUSH and allopathy) was implemented in September, 2017 by the Government; if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether the administrative control and financing of subordinate institutes of AYUSH, National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur and other autonomous institutes is being exercised by the Government;

(c) whether the Government intends to increase the retirement age of AYUSH doctors (teachers and doctors) from 60 years to 65 years working in subordinate institutes like National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur and other autonomous institutes etc;

(d) if so, the details thereof and by when it is likely to be done; and

(e) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a): The enhancement of retirement age from 60 to 65 years for AYUSH doctors was implemented w.e.f. 27.09.2017 vide Ministry of AYUSH Order No. D.14019/4/2016-E.I (AYUSH) dated 24.11.2017 and for Allopathy doctors vide Ministry of Health & Family Welfare order No.A.12034/1/2014-CHS-V dated 31.05.2016.
(b): Yes.
(c) to (e): A consolidated proposal for increasing the superannuation age of teaching and non-teaching faculties of National Institutes under Ministry of AYUSH upto 65 years has been sent to Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for further action.
