Question : Development of Air Bases

(a) whether Ministry has decided to develop five air bases in the State of Andhra Pradesh and has requested the Government of Andhra Pradesh for providing suitable land for the purpose;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether any places have been identified in the state for this purpose and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the status of the project as on date?

(a) to (d): Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh had written to Raksha Mantri regarding setting up of an Air Force Command and training base in Andhra Pradesh at Donakonda / Sagar Airfield, Vijayawada, Vishakapatnam and Suryalanka.
