(a) whether the Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association Ltd. has requested the Government to publish the Food Safety Standards Act, 2006, Rules and Regulations, 2011 in Tamil language for easy understanding by the roadside vendors and small merchants;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) if so, the action taken by the Union Government on this request?

(a) to (c): Food Safety and Standards Authority of India under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has not received any such a request. However, as per the provisions of Official Languages Act 1963, Acts, Rules and Regulations, notified by the Union Government, are required to be published in English and Hindi only. State Governments may, however, arrange to provide translation in local language, if they wish to do so.
