(a) Yes, Madam.
(b), (c) and (d) In terms of the Schedule 13 of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act 2014 (Education), the Government of India is required to take steps to establish institutions of national importance in the 12th and 13th Plan Periods in the Successor State of Andhra Pradesh, including a Petroleum University. In view of this, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has informed that they have identified Rajahmundry as the most ideal location for the establishment of Petroleum University and have short-listed four sites for the University. Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas have advised Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology (RGIPT) to explore the possibility of setting up of a Petroleum University in Andhra Pradesh. RGIPT have engaged KPMG Advisory Services Pvt. Ltd. to develop a Detailed Project Report (DPR) which will cover the conceptual model of the University, operating model and development design element including programmes to be offered, faculty sourcing and delivery mode, student acquisition, partnership, research, infrastructure requirement, finalization and implementation, etc. The preparation of DPR is in final stage of completion and is expected to be submitted shortly. On receipt of DPR, the issue would be examined in detail.
