(a) whether the Government has any record regarding litchi production in the country;
(b) if so, the details of the production of litchi during the last five years, year-wise and State-wise; and
(c) whether there are some apprehensions that the consumption of litchi is harmful to health, if so, the details thereof including the details of any study conducted in this regard?

(a) & (b): The details of Litchi production in the country during the last five years, year-wise and State-wise is given at Annexure.
(c): The link between Litchi consumption and its harmful effect on health is inconclusive. A comprehensive study incorporating various other aspects of aetiology has been initiated by Ministry of Health & Family Welfare under Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR). Details are awaited.
