(a) the number of cases of violation of the terms and conditions of environmental
clearances granted by the Central and State Governments in respect of projects developed/
implemented by private developers and Government agencies that have come to the notice of
the Government; and
(b) the action taken against the violators?

(a) & (b) 86 cases of violation of environmental conditions with regard to various
developmental projects have been noticed during the last three years. Show Cause Notices were
issued to the defaulters. In few cases, legal action has also been initiated to implement
the stipulated environmental conditions.
