(a): Nine (9) cities of State of Odisha, namely Bhadrak, Cuttack, Baleshwar Town, Puri, Bhubaneswar Town, Baripada Town, Brahmapur, Raurkela Town and Sambalpur Town, have been covered under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme.
AMRUT scheme was launched on 25 June 2015 in 500 selected cities across all States/ Union Territories (UTs) with focus on development of basic infrastructure in the sectors of water supply; sewerage and septage management; storm water drainage; green spaces and parks; and non-motorized urban transport. A set of reforms in urban management and capacity building of urban functionaries are also the part of the Mission. Details of Central Assistance (CA) released to the State of Odisha under different components of the Mission, during the last five financial years and current financial year, are as under:

(b): City wise details of AMRUT projects taken up in the State of Odisha is given at the ANNEXURE. No AMRUT city falls in Nabarangpur Parliamentary constituency.
(c): The approved plan size of the State of Odisha for AMRUT projects are ?1,599 crore, which include committed Central Assistance (CA) of ?797 crore. State of Odisha has taken up 191 projects worth ?1,715 crore, and of these, 171 projects worth ?1,409 crore that have been completed and only 20 projects worth ?307 crore are under implementation.
Against the targets of providing 2.91 lakh water tap connections to achieve universal coverage of water supply and 2.17 lakh sewer connections to enhance substantial sewerage network coverage in the 9 AMRUT cities, 1.89 lakh new water tap connections and 3.81 lakh new sewer connections have been provided respectively so far under AMRUT and in convergence with other scheme.
The projects under AMRUT are large infrastructure projects with long gestation period and take significant time for completion. Moreover, COVID-19 pandemic and natural calamities such as floods, cyclones etc. affected the progress of the implementation of projects.

(d): The total central outlay under AMRUT is ?50,000 crore, of which ?35,990 crore has been allocated for Central Assistance to States/ Union Territories (UTs) for AMRUT projects. So far, funds amounting to ?35,221 crore have been released as Central Assistance (CA) to the States/UTs, of which ?28,894 has been released for AMRUT projects.
(e) and (f): Under AMRUT, States /UTs have taken up 5,980 projects worth ?81,969 crore, of which 3,883 projects worth ?22,430 crore have been completed, 1,935 projects worth ?58,284 crore are work in progress and 126 projects worth ?1,180 crore are under tender.So far, out of the grounded projects worth ?80,714 crore, works worth around ?57,414 crore (71%) have been physically completed. Some States/UTs have taken projects in excess of approved plan size for them. In such cases, entire additional expenditure will be borne by the concerned State/ UT itself.
Further, against the target to provide 139 lakh water tap connections to achieve universal coverage of water supply and 145 lakh sewer connections to achieve substantial improvement of sewerage and septage management in AMRUT cities, 114 lakh new water tap connections and 87 lakh new sewer connection have been provided respectively under the Mission or in convergence of other Schemes.
