(a) whether a number of projects have been taken up by the Government in the rural water supply and sanitation sector with the assistance of bilateral and multilateral agencies;

(b) if so, the details of such on-going projects in Gujarat, together with their location and extent of assistance received in each project, separately;

(c) whether some more projects in Gujarat are on the pipeline; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) Yes, Sir.
(b) Implementation of the Ghogha Regional Water Supply and Sanitation Scheme commenced in 1997 under Indo-Dutch bilateral co-operation programme, at a total estimated cost of Rs.4643.24 lakh. It envisages to supply drinking water to 78 villages of Ghogha and Talaja talukas of Bhavnagar and 1 town (Ghogha) of Bhavnagar district.
(c) & (d) A project proposal titled `Gujarat - Sardar Sarovar Canal Based Drinking Water Supply Project - Project identification report for Surendranagar, Rajkot, Jamnagar and Kachchh Districts`, received from the Government of Gujarat and estimated to cost Rs.14229.00 million, has been forwarded to the Department of Economic Affairs for posing it to the World Bank for possible support.
