Question : PANCHAYAT SHIKSHA MITRA PROGRAMME

(a) whether the Union Government has evaluated the Panchayat Shiksha Mitra programme in the country, particularly in Bihar;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise;

(c) the amount allocated, disbursed and spent on the said programme during each of the last three years till dare. State-wise;

(d) whether the Union Government proposes to allocate more funds for the said programme; and

(e) if so, the details thereof, State-wise?

(a) to (e): The appointment of teachers is done as per the terms and conditions of respective States. The Government of India has commissioned a study through an independent agency, to assess the role of locally appointed teachers on contract, at the primary level, in 12 States.
