Question : NATIONAL LIVESTOCK POLICY



(a) whether the Government has taken any concrete steps to fi nalise the National Livestock Policy;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a,b & c) The following concrete steps have been taken to finlise the National Livestock Policy:-

i) The draft National Livestock Policy was circulated to all the States/UTs for comments/concurrence and was placed in the Conference of the State Ministers of Anhnal Husbandry on 13th September, 2008. It was unanimously approved in the sa`fd Conference.

ii) Thereafter a draft Cabinet Note on National Livestock Policy was circulated to various Central Ministries/Planning Commission for their comments. The projections in the National Livestock Policy are being updated.
