Question : Jan Aushadhi Kendras

Will the Minister of CHEMICALS AND FERTILIZERS be pleased to state:

(a) the names of the locations in the country, especially in the backward and Scheduled Caste dominated areas where Jan AushadhiKendras have been set up;
(b) whether the Government has taken any steps for setting up Jan AushadhiKendras especially in the Scheduled Caste dominated areas;
(c) if so, the details thereof;
(d) whetherMishrikh in Uttar Pradesh is included in the said locations; and
(e) if so, the details in this regard?

(a) As on 10.06.2019, 5312 PradhanMantriBhartiyaJanaushadhiKendras (PMBJKs) are functional in the country. The list of such Kendrasalongwith their addresses is available on the website of Bureau of Pharma PSUs of India (BPPI) i.e. www.janaushadhi.gov.in .

(b)&(c) Individual applicants/ NGOs/Trusts/Societies/Institutions/ Hospitals/Medical Colleges may apply for PMBJKs fulfilling the mandatory requirements through online/offline mode. Opening of new PMBJK in a particular area entirely depends upon the number of applications received from such area and obtaining of drug license by the approved applicants in the name of ‘PradhanMantriBhartiyaJanaushadhi Kendra’.

In July 2018, BPPI had invited Expression of Interest across the country from NGOs/Trusts/Societies/Institutions/Individuals for opening up of PMBJKs.

(d)&(e) As on 10.06.2019, we have one PMBJK in Mishrikh in Uttar Pradesh. The address and contact details of this PMBJK are given in the Annexure-I.
