(a) and (b): Government of Kerala has not sent any request to the Ministry for extension of time for completion of projects under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme. However, Mission period was extended up to 31 March 2021 for all States/ Union Territories and now, the Mission has been subsumed in AMRUT 2.0 and will be supported up to 31 March 2023 to compete the approved projects under AMRUT.
(c) and (d): The total approved State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs) of the State of Kerala amounts to ?2,359 crore including Central share of ?1,161 crore, of which State of Kerala has taken up 1,002 projects ?2,338 crore. So far, 744 projects worth ?553.95 crore have been completed. Overall, projects worth ?1,486 crore (64%) have been physically completed.
So far, Central Assistance of ?826.23 crore have been released to State of Kerala for AMRUT projects. Including State share of ?826.24 crore, an amount of ?1,652.48 crore have been made available for AMRUT projects of State of Kerala, out of which ?1,244.51 have been utilized.
Government of Kerala has informed that majority of works are expected to be completed by 31 March 2023. The projects have got delayed due to various reasons, such as land acquisition issues, public protest, natural calamities, COVID-19 pandemic etc.
