Question : PERFORMANCE OF RAIL COACH FACTORIES

(a) whether the Railways have reviewed the performance and financial status of various rail coach factories in the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise and Zone- wise;

(c) whether the Railways have any proposal to build compatible coaches to run at a speed 200 Km per hour;

(d) if so, the details thereof along with the technical and financial assistance likely to be provided to the rail coach factories for the said purpose, factory-wise; and

(e) the time by which it is likely to be implemented?

(a) & (b) The performance of Rail Coach Factories under Ministry of Railways is reviewed through monthly reports and meetings held from time to time. The details of Rail Coach Factories under Ministry of Railways, State- wise and their production performance during last year, 2013-14, is given below:
