Question : Recruitment from Local People

(a) whether the Government has started recruitment of local people for work in a particular region or place;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) if not, whether the Government will consider recruitment from amongst the local people to work in Railway Projects and if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether there is any provision for reservation for outsiders in regional recruitment drives and if so, the details thereof; and
(e) the formalities followed or proposed to be followed for the said purpose?

(b) to (e): Railways conduct recruitment exercises on all India basis giving wide publicity to recruitment notifications in line with the Constitutional provisions, thus maintaining equality in opportunity in the matter of employment under Central Government.
