Question : Drinking Water Projects

(a) whether the Government of Tamil Nadu is carrying out a drinking water project in disputed area of Hogenakkal in Karnataka, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Government of Karnataka is opposing the proposed Drinking Water Project of Tamil Nadu, if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the Government of Karnataka has requested the Union Government to intervene to settle the issue; and
(d) if so, the details thereof and the decision arrived at in the matter?

(a) The Government of Tamil Nadu have executed Hogenakkal Water Supply and Fluorosis Mitigation Project with River Cauvery as source at Hogenakkal village in Tamil Nadu and has been put into beneficial use from 29-05-2013 onwards. As reported, no water supply project is carried out in disputed area of Hogenakkal as such and hence the question of dispute does not arise.

(d) Does not arise.
