Question : Training in Electronic Vehicle

(a) whether the Government has set any target to achieve the Skill India Mission;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the target achieved during the last three years, year wise;

(c) whether the Government has allocated adequate funds for implementation of the Skill India Mission;

(d) if so, the details of the funds allocated and spent and the number of youths trained during the said period;

(e) whether new industrial training courses including electric vehicle courses are proposed to be introduced under the Skill India Mission; and

(f) if so, give details?

Answer given by the minister

(a) to (f) Under the Skill India Mission, the Government has been implementing a number of skill development schemes/programmes across 22 Central Ministries/Departments for training over 40 crore people in India in different skills by 2022. The Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship has been implementing Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY-2016-2020) and Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS) for short term training. Details of persons trained / oriented along with funds allocated and spent are given below:-

Besides, 38.74 lakh persons have been trained under Craftsman Training Schemes (CTS) of Industrial Technical Institutes (ITIs) during the period 2016-17 to 2018-19. In addition, 13 new courses have been introduced in the Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and National Skill Training Institutes (NSTIs) as per details given in Annexure I. A module on Electric Vehicle (EV) technologyhas been introduced in trade Mechanic for two and three wheelers.
