Question : Yoga and Naturopathy Institute in Kasaragod

(a) whether the Government is aware that 15 acres of Government land in Vellarikkundu Taluk Karinthalam Village in Kasaragod district has been leased annually to Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy since October 2018 for setting up a Yoga and Naturopathy Institute but no follow-up action has been taken to start the center till date;

(b) if so, the main obstacles being faced in taking further steps and action taken in this regard;

(c) whether the Government has backed down from implementing this scheme; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (d): Yes. Government of Kerala has offered 15 acres of cost free land at Kasaragod, Kerala to Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), New Delhi, an autonomous body under Ministry of Ayush. However, the proposal for establishing Central Research Institute of Yoga and Naturopathy (CRIYN) at Kasaragod, Kerala needs approval of Department of Expenditure.
