(a) to (c): Energy Storage is already an integral part of off-grid decentralized solar energy systems. However, in the context of MW size solar and wind energy projects, to gain experience of modern energy storage technologies, projects under Research and Development have been sanctioned for different technologies such as Thermal cast iron cavity receiver with heat storage, High Energy Density Thermal Energy Storage for Concentrated Solar Power Plant, Cylindrical conical thermal heat storage and MWh sized various technologies battery storage.
