Question : CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM



(a) whether the Government proposes to introduce a new policy to help people resume education after break;

(b) if so, the salient features of the said policy;

(c) whether credit transfer method, similar to the US college and university system, will be introduced in the country and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government is contemplating to introduce Shaala Darpan project—an app to enable parents receive updates on their children school attendance, assignments and achievements via cell phones; and

(e) if so, the details thereof?

(a) to (c): Yes, Madam. Government has launched Credit Framework on 11th November, 2014 for Skill and Education under National Skill Qualification Framework (NSQF) for providing skills to the youth as per the present requirement of employment. NSQF provides an opportunity to students for multipoint exit and entrance. Any student enrolled under framework may exit at any level and can go to job market and can join back the framework after any gap of time.

(d) & (e): Shaala Darpan, which is the name given to the e-governance Mission Mode Project in School Education, is being implemented in a Pilot mode in 4 (four) States. Phase I of which consists of parent related and school related mobile enabled delivery of services including school attendance.
