(a) Yes Sir. All retired officers of the Armed Forces are allowed to purchase cars from the Canteen Stores Department (CSD).

(b) The facility is also available to serving Junior Commissioned Officers (JCOs). Serving Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs) and retired JCOs are not entitled to this facility.

(c) The facility has been extended to the serving/retired officers and serving JCOs on the basis of their purchasing power which is directly related to their pay structure and pension scales.

(d) & (e): At present there is no proposal to extend the said facility to retired JCOs, serving/retired NCOs and equivalents in other Armed Forces.
