(a) No sir, out of total 24828 exchanges in the rural areas in the country, only about 10.30% exchanges are without STD facility.
(b) The state-wise details of provision of STD facility to exchanges in rural areas as on 31.3.2001 is given in Annexure-I.
(c) All the remaining exchanges in the rural areas are planned to be provided with STD facility by March, 2002 in a phased manner, subject to availability of resources.
