(a) whether heavy expenditure is incurred on transportation of foodgrains to storage godowns
and from thereto the distribution centres;
(b) if so, the details thereof during each of the last three years;
(c) whether the foodgrains are also reported to have been lost during transportation and
storage;
(d) if so, the total quantity and value of foodgrains so lost during the said period;and
(e) the measures taken by the Government to check such wasteful expenditure and loss of
foodgrains?
