(a) whether some State Government including Rajasthan have demanded funds from the Union Government
for development of tourism projects in their States during the current financial year;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State-wise and project-wise; and
(c) the response of the Union Government thereon?
MINISTER OF THE STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF TOURISM (KUMARI SELJA)
(a), (b) and (c): Development and promotion of tourism is primarily undertaken by the State Governments/Union Territory
Administrations. The Ministry of Tourism however, provides financial assistance to States/Union Territories for tourism
projects based on the proposals received from them subject to availability of funds and inter-se-priority.
In the current financial year 20 projects for Rs.4372.51 lakh have been
sanctioned for development and promotion of tourism in the country.
