(a) whether there is no effective check on the prices being presently fixed
by the drug producers, and no standard norms have been fixed for
drugs contents and frequent shortage of essential drugs, presently
dominated by the MNCs, resulting in the poor performance of domestic
companies ;
(b) if so, whether the Union Government propose to set up any Drug
Regulatory Authority in the country to oversee the drug industry ;
(c) if so, the details thereof ; and
(d) if not, the manner in which the Government propose to regulate the
drug industry in the country ?
