Question : MORE PRIVATE HOSPITALS UNDER CGHS SCHEME



(a) whether the Government is aware that only one private hospital i.e., Escorts Hospital and Research Centre is recongnised by the CGHS to provide medical facilities/hospitalization to the thousands of serving and retired Central Government employees residing in National Capital Region(NCR) towns;

(b) if so, whether the Government would conduct a fresh survey in this regard and provide suo moto recognition to some more private hospitals/Nursing Homes/Diagnostic Centres to meet the medical requirements of growing numbers of CGHS beneficiaries living in NCR towns and particularly in Faridabad ; and

(c) if so, the measures being contemplated in this regard?

(a): In the NCR town of Faridabad, NOIDA, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon covered under CGHS Delhi, there are 13 private CGHS recognised hospitals including Escorts hospital and Research Centre, Faridabad as per details given below:-

1.	Kalyani Hospital(P) Ltd, 354/2, Mehrauli Road, Gurgaon

2. Dr. Taneja Hospital & Heart Centre, 113-A, New colony, Gurgaon.

3. Sheetla Hospital & Eye Institute Pvt. Ltd., Near D.S.D. College, New Railway Road, Gurgaon.

4. Umkal hospital & M.P. Heart Research Institute, A-520, Shushant Lok-I, Gurgaon.

5. Narendra Mohan Hospital, Mohan Nagar, Ghaziabad. 6. Santosh Medical & Dental College Hospital, 1, Ambedkar Road, Ghaziabad

7 Yashoda Hospital & Research Centre III-M, Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad

8. U.P. Stone and urology centre, II-A/40, Nehru Nagar, Ghaziabad-201001.

9. Metro Hospital & Heart Institute, NOIDA 10. Kailash Hospital & Research Centre, H-33, Sector-27, Noida 11. Prakash Hospital, D-12, 21A, 12B, Sector-33, Noida 12. Satya Medical Centre, A-98/A, Sector-34, Noida 13. Escorts hospital & Research Centre Ltd., Neelam Bata Road, Faridabad.




The CGHS beneficiaries can avail treatment in any of the private hospitals recognised hospitals under CGHS by obtaining permission from the Govt. During emergency, the CGHS beneficiaries can directly go to any hospital for taking treatment.

(b)&(c): The CGHS had during March-April, 2004, invited tenders for fresh recognition of private hospitals/diagnostic centres under CGHS in the various CGHS-covered cities including NCR towns under CGHS Delhi. The eligible applicant hospitals/diagnostic centres satisfying the criteria laid down in the tenders would be entitled for consideration on merit for recognition under CGHS.
