Question : Gati Shakti Yojana

(a) whether the Government has launched the Gati Shakti Yojana for Multi Modal Connectivity and improvement of infrastructure in various economic zones to increase the working capacity of industries and local manufacturers;

(b) if so, the details, aims and objectives thereof along with the details of challenges faced and the steps taken by the Government to achieve the objective of the scheme and achieve India’s five million economy goal;

(c) whether the Government has fixed any target to increase the cargo capacity at ports under the scheme and if so, the details thereof; and

(d) whether the Government has planned to launch the Gati Shakti Yojana across the country and if so, the number and details of States likely to be covered under the scheme, particularly Assam?

(a) to (d): Yes, Sir. PM GatiShakti- National Master Plan (NMP) would be an integrated plan depicting the economic zones and the multimodal connectivity infrastructure with an objective to holistically integrate the interventions of various Ministries / Departments and address missing gaps to ensure seamless movement of people, goods & services. To attain this objective and overcome the challenge of breaking silos, intensive and regular coordination between various Ministries / Departments of Government of India along with the State Governments and private sector industries / experts / stakeholders have been carried out during the planning and implementation stages. PM GatiShakti-NMP is a pan-India initiative covering Ministries / Departments at National level and States are also encouraged to adopt this framework.
