Question : Metro Rail Project in Karnataka

(a) Whether the union Government has received any proposal from the Government of Karnataka regarding phase-III of metro rail projects and if so, the details thereof;

(b) Whether there is any proposal to link metro rail and sub-urban rail at many points in third phase and if so, the details thereof; and

(c) The funds to be released by the Union Government and the timeline by which the metro phase-III will start?

(a) to (c) No proposal has been received from Government of Karnataka (GoK) for implementation of Phase-III of Bangalore metro rail project. However, GoK has sent proposals for implementation of Phase-2A and 2B for establishing metro rail link on Outer Ring Road i.e from Central Silk Board Junction to K.R. Puram and K.R. Puram to Airport via Hebbal.
