(a) the details of fast track courts notified by the State Governments till 31, December, 2001 .State-wise ;
(b) whether the Union Government directed the State Governments for setting up of fast track courts in
their respective States which is funded by the Union Government;
(c) the details of cases disposed off by these courts till date, State-wise; and
(d) the further steps taken by the Government to start more such fast track courts in various parts of
the country?

(a) As per available information, as on 28.02.2002, 1015 Fast Track Courts have been notified by the State
Governments. A Statement-I showing the number of courts notified, State-wise is enclosed.
(b) Yes, Sir.
(c) A Statement-ll showing the number of cases disposed by fast track courts is enclosed.
(d) Central Government is constantly persuading the State Governments to set up all the 1734 fast track
