Question : Atmanirbhar Krishi App

(a) whether the Union Government has launched ‘Atmanirbhar Krishi App’ recently to provide farmers with actionable agricultural insights and weather alerts;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the agencies under which the app will provide its services in various States;

(c) whether the application will be accessible from every village especially remote localities across the country, if so the details thereof;

(d) whether the Government has created awareness about the application among the farmers and if so, the details thereof; and

(e) the steps taken/being taken by the Government to popularize the said application through advertising on social networking sites and other platforms?

(a): Government of India has facilitated development of an Atmanirbhar Krishi APP supported by CSR funds.

(b): The APP is made available free of cost on Google Play Store for usage. Access is being facilitated at the State level in partnership with Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs).

(c): Any farmer/citizen with a basic smart phone can download and use the APP.

(d) & (e): Popularization through social media and press releases in regional languages was undertaken.
