(a) whether the Government is reimbursing the emergency medical expenses of freedom fighters in private hospitals at the Central Government Health Scheme rates; and

(a) & (b): As per Swatantrata Sainik Samman Pension Scheme, 1980, the Central Freedom Fighter Pensioners/eligible dependents are provided CGHS facilities as well as free medical facilities in all Central Government hospitals and in hospitals run by PSUs under the control of the Bureau of Public Enterprises. In case of emergency, CGHS beneficiaries can go to private hospital whether empanelled or not and reimbursement in such cases is made on CGHS rates. In case, full reimbursement is requested, the same is referred to the Standing Technical Committee, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare for its consideration.
