Question : Greenfield Highways to connect Industrial Hubs

(a) whether the Government has projects specifically aimed at bridging critical infrastructure gaps through thedevelopment of economic corridors, so-called inter-corridors and feeder routes, border and international connectivity roads, coastal and port connectivity roads and Greenfield expressways across the country and if so, the details thereof, State-wise;

(b) if so, the details thereof along with the estimated cost of the project; and

(c) whether such projects are much delayed and the time by which the above new highways are likely to be constructed?

(a) to (c) The Bharatmala Pariyojana comprises of about 65,000 km of Highways / Roads. The tentative State-wise details are provided at Annexure. Out of total length under Bharatmala Pariyojana, 24,800 km Highways (i.e. economic corridors, inter corridors, feeder routes, border roads etc.) along with 10,000 km residual NHDP stretches have envisaged for construction under Phase-I of Bharatmala Pariyojana over a period of 5 years i.e. from 2017-18 to 2021-22 for which Rs. 5,35,000 crores have been earmarked. There is no delay.
