(a) whether the Union Government is considering to set up a Floriculture Institute at Kadiyam, Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, if so, the details thereof;
(b) whether the Indian Council of Agriculture Research (ICAR) has examined the proposal and sent its expert team to examine the location; and
(c) if so, the details thereof including the funds earmarked by the Government in this regard?

(a) Yes, Madam. The proposal for setting up of a Regional Station of Directorate of Floricultural Research in Kadiyam, Andhra Pradesh has been considered favourably by the ICAR.
(b) Yes, Madam.
(c) A team of ICAR officials visited and examined the site short listed by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and obtained the land delivery certificate of 10.77 ac of land at Vemagiri Village of Kadiyam Mandal, Andhra Pradesh. The final alienation process in the name of ICAR is pending on the part of State Government.
The ICAR has earmarked Rs.1.00 crore for setting up of the Regional Station at Kadiyam, Andhra Pradesh in 12th Plan period.
