Question : HEALTH INSURANCE SCHEME FOR WEAVERS

(a) whether there has been a demand to provide Health Insurance Scheme for weavers under Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana platform;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken by the Government in this regard;

(c) whether some State Governments including Maharashtra have requested for allocation of stalls to their Weavers Cooperative Societies at Handloom Market Complex, New Delhi; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the action taken by the Union Government thereon and the time by which the same are likely to be allotted?

(a) & (b): Implementation of Health Insurance Scheme (HIS) for handloom weavers under Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) platform has been approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA).

(c) & (d): No request has been received from any State Government for allotment of stalls to their Weavers Cooperative Societies at Handloom Marketing Complex, New Delhi.
