(a) whether the reservation is provided to students belonging to Scheduled Caste/Tribe as well as Other Backward Classes in the minority educational institutions in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) if not, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether the Government has taken/proposed to take any step to ensure reservation facility in educational institutions of the minorities; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (e): The Government in exercise of the powers vested under Section 20 (1) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, 1956 has directed the UGC to ensure effective implementation of the reservation policy in the Central Universities and those of institutions Deemed to be Universities receiving aid from the Public funds except in Minority Institution under Article 30(1) of the Constitution.
