Question : Supply of Drinking Water through Taps

(a) whether the Government has proposed to provide drinking water through taps to every household by 2022;

(b) if so, the details of the current project in this regard;

(c) whether the Government has conducted any survey to provide drinking water through taps to every household; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b) To enable every rural household in all States/ UTs to have Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC), Government of India has launched Jal Jeevan Mission, which aims at providing potable water to every rural household through Functional Household Tap Connection (FHTC) at the rate of 55 litre per capita per day (lpcd) by 2024, with an estimated outlay of ?3.60 lakh Crore.
(c) & (d) Water supply being a State subject, States/ UTs provide information on Integrated Management Information System of this Department which inter alia includes details of number of household connections. The same is in public domain.
