Question : PAINTING OF IRON GATES IN GOVERNMENT QUARTERS

to the answer given to USQ No. 5384 dated 28.8.2001 and state:

(a): whether the CPWD is not painting the iron gates provided on 10 per cent payment in Government Quarters in the Government colonies in New Delhi at regular intervals despite requests from the allottees;

(b): if so, the reasons therefor;

(c): whether the CPWD is not putting pucca boundry walls and then fixing the barbed wires upon them raising the height to a level not to be jumped by any intruder and no steel sheets are affixed with the gates for privacy in the iron gates provided on 10 per cent charges;

(d): if so, the reasons therefor;

(e): the measures taken by the Government in this regard; and

(f): the number of loft tanks cleaned in the colonies, during each of the last three years, colony-wise?

(a)&(b): Iron gates fixed on payment of 10% are painted regularly subject to availability of funds.

(c)&(d): Pucca boundary walls with barbed wire fencing/grill are provided around houses of persons who have been given security cover by Ministry of Home Affairs. Similarly, boundary walls are being constructed around various Government colonies as a security measure.

Iron gates are provided along with fencing for lawns but no steel sheets are fixed on them. Neither there is any provision for fixing such sheets nor would this be advisable both economically and aesthetically.

(e): Does not arise in view of (c) & (d) above.
