Question : Routes under Krishi UDAN Scheme

(a) whether Government has identified certain focus routes under Krishi-UDAN scheme to support region specific agri-products transportation;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the steps taken by Government to ensure seamless, cost effective, time-bound air transportation for agri-products from various regions of the country?

STATEMENT IN RESPECT OF LOK SABHA STARRED QUESTION NO. 416 REGARDING "ROUTES UNDER KRISHI UDAN SCHEME" TO BE ANSWERED ON 31.03.2022 (a) and (b) Krishi Udan Scheme was launched in August 2020 to assist farmers in transporting agricultural products so that it improves their value realization. Krishi Udan 2.0 mainly focuses on transporting perishable food products from the hilly areas, north-eastern states and tribal areas. Following seven focus routes and products have been identified under the Scheme:
Route Produce
Amritsar - Dubai : Baby corn
Darbhanga - Rest of India : Litchi
Sikkim - Rest of India : Organic produce
Chennai, Vizag, Kolkata - Far East : Seafood
Agartala - Delhi & Dubai : Pineapple
Dibrugarh - Delhi & Dubai : Mandarin orange
Guwahati - Hong Kong : Pulses, fruits & vegetables (c) Krishi Udan Scheme is a convergence scheme where eight Ministries/Departments namely Ministry of Civil Aviation, Department of Agriculture & Farmers'' Welfare, Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) would leverage their existing schemes to strengthen the logistics for transportation of Agri-produce.; For facilitating and incentivizing movement of agri-produce by air transportation, Airports Authority of India (AAI) provides full waiver of Landing, Parking, Terminal Navigational Landing Charges (TNLC) and Route Navigation Facility Charges (RNFC) for Indian freighters and P2C (Passenger-to-Cargo) Aircrafts primarily around 25 airports focusing on North Eastern, Hilly and Tribal region and 28 airports in other regions/areas.
