(a) whether a large number of Nursing Homes/private clinics are running in various parts of the country without any registration and are charging exorbitant fees from the people;
(b) if so, whether any action has been taken against such Nursing Homes/private clinics by the Government;
(c) if so, the details thereof; and
(d) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d) `Health` is a State subject under the Constitution. The functions of the Nursing Homes/Private clinics in the States are regulated by the respective State Governments according to the provisions of the rules/laws effective in the State concerned. This Ministry is not maintaining list of Nursing Homes/private clinics in the country.
The Government of NCT of Delhi has, however, informed that they are aware of the unregistered nursing homes in Delhi. Notices have been issued to such nursing homes directing them to fulfil the required standards as laid down in Delhi Nursing Homes Registration Act, 1953. Government of NCT of Delhi has constituted a committee for suggesting suitable amendments in the statute for empowering the Government so that effective and exemplary action could be taken to curb the menace.
