Question : BOMBS HURLED AT 301 UP



(a) whether bombs were hurled at 301 UP Rampurhat-Barharwa passenger train near railway station Kotalpurkhar, in Pakur District of Howrah Division on Independence Day;

(b) the number of persons died and injured;

(c) whether any investigation report has been received in this regard; and

(d) if so, the details thereof?

(a): No, Sir. No such incident took place. However, there was an incident of explosion of bomb on 15.8.2002 in train No. 803 UP (Rampurhat-Sahebganj Passenger) in between Tilbhita and Kotalpukur Railway stations of Howrah Division.

(a) 11 passengers were injured without any casualty.

(b) & (d): Government Railway Police (GRP), Barharwa has registered and investigated the case under section 324/307 IPC and 3/4 Explosive Act.
