(a) & (b) The Government of India had approved Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I in October, 2017 spanning a the period of 5 years, with an aggregate length of about 34,800 km (including 10,000 km residual NHDP stretches) at an estimated outlay of Rs. 5,35,000.00 crores for development of about 9,000 km length of Economic corridors, 6,000 km length of Inter-corridor and feeder roads, 5,000 km length of National Corridors Efficiency improvements, 2,000 km length of Border and International connectivity roads, 2,000 km length of Coastal and port connectivity roads, and 800 km length of Expressways. The 362 projects with an aggregate length of about 14,228 km with cost of approximately Rs. 3,25,000 crore have been awarded under Bharatmala Pariyojana in the country. Out of this, five projects of aggregate length 53 km with cost of Rs. 3150 crore have been awarded in the State of Kerala.
(c) DPR for Kollam to Shenkottai section of NH-744, which include Kollam to Kottavasal section, has been initiated.
(d) DPR Consultant has proposed various alignment options for Kollam to Shenkottai section including stretch from Ottakkal to Kadambattukonam and examination of the same has been initiated.
