(a) whether the Railways have any proposal to provide dispensaries/ medical facilities at various railway stations in the country;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the criteria on which the railway stations are selected for providing these medical facilities on railway stations?

(a): Yes, Madam.
(b): A Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Ministry of Health & Family
Welfare and Ministry of Railways for development of healthcare infrastructure along the rail
network of country. These health care infrastructure facilities viz. diagnostic centers,
outpatient centers, inpatient medical treatment centers, etc. shall be developed by Ministry
of Health & Family Welfare.
(c): The vacant railway land, which is not required for immediate operational use have been
identified for this purpose.
