LAND RECORDS MANAGEMENT

Will the Minister of RURAL DEVELOPMENT be pleased to state:

(a) the steps being taken for Land Records Management in the country, State-wise including Andhra Pradesh and Telangana since 2015 onwards as efficient use of land resources is a strong imperative and States will be encouraged to adopt Unique Land Parcel Identification Number to facilitate IT-based management of records as the facility for transliteration of land records across any of the Schedule VIII languages will also be rolled out; and

(b) the details of progress made including the funds sanctioned/spent till now since 2015 onwards, State wise?

(a) Digital India Land Records Modernization Programme (DILRMP) is being implemented as a Central Sector Scheme with effect from 1st April, 2016 with 100% funding by the Centre. The objective of DILRMP is to develop a modern, comprehensive and transparent land record management system with the aim to develop an Integrated Land Information Management System which will inter alia: (i) improve real-time information on land; (ii) optimize use of land resources; (iii) benefit both landowners and prospectors; (iv) assist in policy and planning; (v) reduce land disputes; (vi) check fraudulent/benami transactions ; (vii) obviate need of physical visits to Revenue/Registration offices and (viii) enable sharing of information with various organization/agencies.

(b) Substantial progress has been achieved in various components of the Programme as given under as on 24.03.2022:
