(a) Whether the Government has approved cadre review and formation of the Indian Enterprise Development Service (IEDS);
(b) If so, the details thereof; and
(c) The manner an extent to which this is likely to help in achieving the goals /visions of start-ups-India, stand-up India and Make-in-India programmes in the country?

(a): Yes, the Government has given approval to the Cadre review and formation of a new service namely “Indian Enterprise Development Service (IEDS)” on 21.12.2016.
(b): The new service has been created by merging the various disciplines. It will help in making a common seniority list and ensure care has been taken to see that there is no adverse impact on incumbents. The new service overall is reducing the number of posts but the promotion avenues of the officers will be better. There will be increase of 4 posts at the Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000/-, increase of 32 posts at a Grade Pay of Rs. 8,700/-, increase of 37 posts at the Grade Pay of Rs. 7,600/- etc.
(c): The creation of new service will enthuse the officers working in the Department and enhance their capacity and efficiency. It will help in fulfilling the vision of Start Ups India, Stand Up India, Make in India programmes and schemes of the country.
