Question : NH-209 upto Kanakpura

(a) whether National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) proposes to upgrade Bangalore Dindigul (in TAMIL NADU) National Highway (NH-209), upto Kanakpura into four-lane;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the details of the fund allocated for the project and funds spent for the project till date?

(a) to (c) National Highways Authority of India has taken up upgradation of NH-209 from Bangalore to Dindigul. The stretch from km 424/920 to km 458/420 is proposed to be upgraded to 4 lane standard and the stretch from km 287/500 to km 424/920 is to be upgraded to 2 lanes with paved shoulder standard in Karnataka state which is under bidding process. The estimated project cost is Rs. 668.18 crore and the expenditure incurred so far is Rs. 79.8 crore towards land acquisition. The stretch from Dindigul to Annur in Tamil Nadu is proposed for four laning and the stretch from Annur to Tamil Nadu/Karnataka border is proposed for 2 lanes with paved shoulders. These projects are in DPR stage.
