(a) the number of special schools set up for physically challenged students under
the Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme in different States of the coujitry including
Uttar Pradesh;
(b) the funds provided to these schools during the last three years,State-wise;
(c) whether the Government proposes to open such new schools in the country including
Behraiach district of Uttar Pradesh; and
(d) if so,the details thereof; and

(a) to (d) The Government does not set up Special Schools for physically challenged students
under the Deendayal Disabled Rehabilitation Scheme or provide funds to Non-Governmental
Organisations (NGOs) for setting up these schools. Funds are granted to NGOs under the scheme
on the basis of the recommendations of State Governments/Union Territory Administrations,
only for projects that have been functioning for at least 2 years.
