(a) the number of applications received under the Textile Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) in 2009-10, State-wise;
(b) the number of applications disposed of and granted funds;
(c) the number of funds sanctioned by the Government towards the scheme with the details of amount utilised so far:
(d) the details of beneficiaries under TUFS;
(e) whether the Government also proposes to formulate National Fibre Policy; and
(f) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor?

(a) to (d): 18034 applications for subsidy claims were received under Technology
Upgradation Fund Scheme (TUFS) during 2009-10 all of which were sanctioned and an amount
of Rs. 2882.64 crores was sanctioned and utilized under the scheme. The state-wise details
are at Annexure-I.
(e) & (f): The Government has formulated a National Fibre Policy with a decadal perspective
of 2010-20 to place India firmly on the World Fibre map by strengthening the existing policy
framework and providing institutional and technological support for rapid Fibre growth in the
country.
