(a) whether the employees of Railways are covered under any health scheme; (b if so, the details thereof;
(c) whether the health facility is also extended to the retired employees of the Railways and if so, the details thereof;
(d) whether the Ministry proposes to consider simplifying the medical treatment procedure for retired employees; and
(e) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken by the Railways in this regard?

(a) & (b): Yes, Madam. Railway employees are covered under Medical Attendance and Treatment. Free medical facilities are provided to the employee, members of the family and dependent relatives.
(c) to (e): Yes, Madam. Retired railway employees covered under Retired Employees Liberalized Health Scheme – 97 (RELHS-97) are provided with full medical facilities as admissible to serving employees.
