(a) to (c): The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs (MoHUA) is administering a Scheme of ‘Shelter for Urban Homeless (SUH)’ as a component of Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana-National Urban Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NULM), through respective States/UTs. The Scheme focuses on providing permanent shelters to the urban homeless. Number of urban homeless identified on the basis of third party systematic survey conducted by the respective States, is 12,108 in Bihar and 2,877 in Madhya Pradesh so far.
In Bihar, as on 24.06.2019, a total of 94 shelters for urban homeless have been sanctioned under DAY-NULM, out of these, 65 shelters are operational. In Madhya Pradesh, as on 24.06.2019, a total of 133 shelters for urban homeless have been sanctioned under DAY-NULM and all shelters are operational.
Further, in pursuance of the Government’s vision of “Housing for All” by 2022, the Ministry is also implementing the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) [PMAY(U)] since 25.06.2015 for providing assistance to States/Union Territories (UTs), including the States of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, in addressing the housing requirement of the people belonging to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Lower Income Group (LIG) and Middle Income Group (MIG) categories in urban areas. The States/UTs have undertaken demand survey for assessing actual demand of housing in urban areas. The demand confirmed so far by the States of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh is 7 lakh and 11.52 lakh respectively.
The details of houses sanctioned, grounded and completed so far for Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in the States of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh during last three years are as under:

All the States/UTs, including the States of Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, have been requested to get their remaining demand of houses sanctioned at the earliest so that construction of all houses may progressively be completed by 2022.
